The Start Of My Journey

I have been trying to write for years. Short stories, blogs, novels, poems, articles, basically you name it I have tried it. I never seem to continue on one path. My brain goes in multiple directions continuously and I can't keep working on one single idea. Some days it's frustrating.

For example, I can be watching a tv show, reading something on my phone or in a book, and also having a conversation in person with my partner and not even think twice about doing all these things at once.

Meanwhile, other people will wait for me to stop what I am doing, look at them, and then they will start talking to me. As if I wasn't paying attention to them. It tends to get better as they get to know me.

I have issues where I think everyone else brain works like mine. I'll be talking to someone while they are reading something or writing an email and I'll be done with my sentence waiting for an answer when I realize they didn't hear a word I said. It can be super annoying and I get used to repeating myself a lot.

This was a thing I learnt about myself over the last few years. Looking back it makes sense. People always assumed I wasn't listening but I was. I continue to discover things about myself as time goes on. Like the fact, fried onions aren't horrible, and if I eat cake for breakfast no one will tell me I can't.
I got my fiancee to take this photo after an ex told me I was fat and needed to start exercising. We hadn't talked for a long time. It was super rude and unexpected.

I finally am in a place where I feel I can start to share my stories, good and bad, and laugh and cry and be okay with myself.

It has taken a while to get here. Up, down and sideways, backwards, forwards and all around. But here I am.

I hope you will enjoy the journey as I continue to share more of my self-discovery, through stories and questions.

Feel free to grab a coffee, or whatever your beverage of choice is, relax for a few minutes as you read. Quite frankly you deserve it.

Thanks for stopping by.
